Social Skills Training
Autism Outreach Southern California is excited to bring your family social skills groups! Using the principles of ABA, our trained clinicians will implement evidence-based social skills curricula to teach your child the skills necessary to navigate his or her social world. See below for additional information about our groups!

Busy Bees (Ages 2-4)
The Busy Bees group currently meets on Sunday mornings. Your little busy bee will work on the following skills:
- Greetings
- Requesting from peers
- Responding to peer requests
- Parallel play
- Pretend play
- Imitation skills
- Following instructions
- Attending in a group
Activities:
- Circle time (songs, books, pre-academic skills)
- Social games (musical chair, duck duck goose, etc.)
- Physical activities (indoor obstacle course, gross motor games)
- Centers (pretend play, sensory activities, fine motor skills, closed-ended activities such as puzzles, open-ended activities such as blocks)

Surf Monkeys (Ages 5-7)
The Surf Monkey group currently meets on Sunday afternoons. Your little surf monkey will work on the following skills:
- Initiating social interactions
- Responding to social initiations
- Sustaining social play
- Turn taking
- Sportsmanship
- Following instructions
Activities:
- Recess games
- Board games
- Arts & crafts
- Cooking
- Centers (pretend play, sensory activities, fine motor skills, closed-ended activities such as puzzles, open-ended activities such as trains)

The Hangout (Ages 8-12)
The Hangout gang currently meets on Friday afternoons. Your cool kid will work on the following skills:
- Conversation
- Perspective taking
- Problem Solving
- Sportsmanship
- Collaboration
Activities:
- Social skills lesson
- Physical games (corn hole, ring toss)
- Cooperative games
- Cooking
- Unstructured social time
